Sunday Worship

Our small but welcoming congregation worships together on Sundays at 10:30 at 201 Cowan Avenue (west of Dufferin Street and just south of Queen) for about one hour and fifteen minutes, as well as on other special holy days through the Christian year.

Our music is led by Scott Drakeford on the piano, sometimes accompanied by other musicians, and our hymns are drawn from a variety of eras and traditions. We use the Book of Alternative Services, hear meaningful messages from Scripture and from sermons presented in different ways from our worship leaders, and celebrate the Eucharist weekly.

Participants can expect to be greeted warmly, and to be welcomed for a fellowship time afterwards.

Resources for Conviviality

“Conviviality” doesn’t describe larger and more formal worship gatherings, but smaller ones that are centred on sharing a meal and building relationships in the context of Christian faith and community together. Below are some resources that can be used.

The earliest Christians met for meals. A distinctive meal tradition…was not a social event additional to worship, or a programmatic attempt to create fellowship among the Christians, but the regular form of Christian gathering ….These meals, where bread was broken, cup blessed, and various forms of discourse shared among the community and offered to God, were … the forerunners of what Christians have known as the Eucharist, Lord’s Supper, Holy Communion, or Mass.
